This has been my Delta Dental orthodontist for more than ten years. They used to be at the Oceanside mall off Vista Way. However they moved their office off Hwy 78 in Vista and I followed them because they are the best! Love my hygienist Gala, who is so gentle and accurate. My dentist Dr. Schmidt is an angel! This dental office only focuses on my needs and doesn't try to push any unneeded services. My Delta Premiere covers most if not all of the necessary dental services I need and have no complaints at all. I've tried a plethora of orthodontic establishments in San Diego, and this office works for me. The staff is genuine and frankly I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

I highly recommend this practice to everyone I know. I had become a bit phobic about dental work after I experienced something traumatic. I shared my concerns with the dentists/staff and they have not only accommodated my concerns, they have gained my trust and loyalty. I’ve had many procedures and orthodontia at 50+ with this practice. They are all very capable, professional and understanding.

I hate the dentist and I always have, until now. Luckily, the entire staff is super nice and sensitive to the fact that not everyone is a fan of getting their mouths drilled. The doc himself is really kind and I've seen/heard him interact with kids and he does a great job with them too. He put me at ease because he explained exactly what he was doing before he did it, so I know what to expect. I needed my first cavity filled and honestly I'm so glad i had that experience here, I wasn't made to feel ridiculous when i was scared and they did a great job listening to my concerns. Their dental hygienist is also so nice, I needed a deep clean (about a 2 hour procedure) and the ease of conversation really helps to make that time go by quickly. I'd highly recommend trying El Camino Dental Arts if you're in the market for a new dentist.

I actually enjoyed going to the dentist to see Dr. Schmidt. I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran and I needed 7 implants and a bridge. The surgery to prepare for the implants was performed by Dr. Anna Hsu. She was very skilled, caring and professional while doing a great job. Then it was back to Dr. Schmidt for the implants and crowns. He too is very skilled, very professional while friendly and caring at the same time. In short Dr. Schmidt is a terrific dentist who did a fine job.The staff too is terrific. Lisa, Kelly and Cindy Stanford who submitted my case to the Veterans Administration for approval. Dr. Schmidt's assistant Bee was excellent as was Lisa, Dr. Hsu's assistant.The entire experience at El Camino Dental Arts which lasted over a year for the complete implants procedure was a huge success in every way.One last note is that the facility itself is impressively clean and the equipment up to date. I look forward to my follow up visits and cleanings.

Due to a bad experience and having an autoimmune disease, I absolutely dread the dentist. We are talking full blown anxiety! I was in tears when Dr. Schmidt walked in to introduce himself. I had a broken molar and the same molar on the opposite side had a cavity and they fixed them right up quick and efficiently! Going to the dentist normally make me nervous, but they were so welcoming and calmed my nerves with how friendly and confident they were with their work.

Dr Erich Schmidt and crew are the best. Been having my teeth taken care of here regularly for the past 10 years. They moved to Vista office from O'side - last place was more convenient for me. However, hard to follow them to the new place because... well, heck I'm sticking with the best DDS and crew. Absolutely enjoy my bi- annual cleaning with Gala, and the scheduling and front desk staff are just absolutely stellar. I'm never charged more for services that are not needed or are not covered ny my insurance... plus, absolutely love grooving to the piped music while my teeth are being cared for. Bottom line: I trust the staff and like the price.

This is a fantastic Dental Group. I recently had to have a molar pulled because it could not be saved by a root canal. I was very worried about the process since this molar's root was very problematic. Dr. Hsu did an amazing job and I experienced ZERO pain and the process took less that 10 mins. I was blown away. I will be proceeding with a dental implant and I am now confident that the process will be painless and effective. The office staff is also amazing, Lisa & Cindy two of their office staff were also very helpful and very caring. Dr. Schmidt is my regular dentist and I have been going to him for over 7 years. It's not uncommon for me to break into tears from just getting a couple injections. I am so appreciative of the way Dr Schmidt is so painless and gentle while doing his work. I drive twenty miles to use his office and will not go anywhere else because I trust him and his staff. I went here about a month ago and met with Dr. S. He was very nice and not pushy !!! I know I need a lot of dental work done Dr.S didn't make me feel bad about it. He went over the things I needed done and we talked about different options. I came back to get 3 teeth pulled including one wisdom tooth. Dr.N actually pulled my teeth. I told all my friends and family about this place. The inside is nice, the employees are nice the procedures are pain free

I have always been taken in on time for my appointments, which is not always the case with other offices. Speaking of the office - it is absolutely beautiful! I have been a patient for many years at Dr. Schmidt's practice and will never go anywhere else even though I live in Carlsbad! The hygienists are fantastic as well as the clerical staff, especially Cindy S.!

I am an adult who has a fear of the dentist, I always get anxiety beforehand but I cracked a tooth and started having some major tooth pain yesterday, did some research and saw on every platform the perfect 5 star reviews. Called, made an appointment- the front desk person was so kind and understanding on the phone and got me an appointment today! Came in after spending 5 minutes in my car trying to calm myself down enough to go inside and I'm so glad I did! I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Schmidt and Mary! 100% would recommend them to anyone! Very easy and they were so understanding about my fears and made sure to numb me extra good. Already made my next appointment!

Words cannot describe how much I love this dentist office and the staff. I'm absolutely petrified of the dentist, before I found this place I would lay in bed almost in tears thinking about even going to the dentist. I would have rather dealt with the pain than go see a dentist. My first experience at this office was a root canal on a cavity that I had let go for so long because of my fear. This was my first cavity as well so I was even more terrified. I can't even put into words how my experience went, except it was more than perfect. I would even do it AGAIN after the experience I had. Everything I've had done at this dentist office has been an amazing experience, from getting a cleaning to cavities filled. Everyone who works here is amazing, especially Dr Schmidt who is always so nice and makes you feel so at ease, like you've known him your whole life. 500/10 I would recommend this dentist to anyone!

We first started seeing Dr. Schmidt when we moved to the area in 2008. My daughter was 9 at the time and was afraid of dentists due to some previous work done on her. She loved Dr. Schmidt though. Almost 10 years later, we are still happy with everyone in the office.
I started using Dr. Schmidt's services after being referred by the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have had many dentists over my lifetime and I am very pleased with the care provided by Erich S. Schmidt, D.D.S. and Associates of El Camino Dental Arts. Excellent care for my bridge work, crowns, sleep guard, and deep cleaning. Very efficient and friendly staff for scheduling my appointments, submitting my VA paperwork, submitting prescriptions, and more. Very military and veteran friendly. Dr. Schmidt himself is a military veteran. Highly recommend dental care provided by Dr. Schmidt and his associates.
Dr. Schmidt and his entire staff were amazing. His wife is actually one of the hygienist there. I learned this during one of my cleanings with her which if it weren't for her flossing my teeth I would have thought we were friends chatting over margaritas. She even went over what I was doing wrong when brushing and explained how to prevent myself from further messing up my teeth. No other hygienist has ever gone out of their way to explain things to me other than the routine clean and remind me to floss. I really appreciated her extra efforts and knowledge.Just sitting in the waiting room I saw multiple regulars coming in and leaving. Most an older bunch that seemed to use their visit as a social hour as well. You could tell that the staff really enjoy their jobs and enjoy connecting with each customer that comes in. After a horrific experience at a place off mission and el Camino .... I was excited to be referred to this place but was also sad that I had to move out of city and now on my search for a new dentist. I don't know what's worse.... finding a new hair stylist or dentist....
I am so happy I found Dr. Schmidt! My mom and I have had the hardest time finding a good and honest dentist who doesn't want to perform a bunch of unnecessary procedures just to charge you extra money. My mom saw Dr. Schmidt a few months ago and literally told me he was "her dentist from god" so when my one year old fell and injured his gums I took him straight to El Camino Dental Arts. Everyone from the woman who answered the phone, the people working the front desk, and the dentist were so sensitive to me and my son. Dr. Schmidt took his time to hear and answer all of my questions thoroughly and didn't make me feel rushed or like how many health professionals do: like an overly worried mom. I will definitely be taking my son here for his future dental cleanings/needs and recommending this office to friends and family!
I've been coming here for a while now, and this is the only dentist in my entire life I've regularly booked my next appointment before i leave. I've had negative experiences with other dentists in the past. That just doesn't happen here. Ask for Jen for your hygienist. She's friendly, and does a thorough job - each time explaining what was good, what could be improved and sends you on your way with a smile.
El Camino Dental Arts is the place for your dental/oral health! Dr. Schmidt and his lovely staff are absolutely the best. Everyone here is welcoming and helpful. I started going here since last year and will continue to do so. You can tell that they all really care about your needs. I drive two hours just to be seem by them; best dental office, hands down!

I don't know anybody that actually likes going to the dentist, but Dr. Schmidt and his team are such a lovely group of people, that I actually do! Gala is always very friendly and sweet. I can talk to her (when her fingers aren't in my mouth) freely and feel very comfortable with her. She is also very honest about giving advice when asked about certain dental hygiene/care. She won't try to sell the most expensive anything, but lets you know your options.I always enjoy coming in and seeing her. I look forward to the next cleaning in 6 months! Thank you again:)

I decided to finally get in to see a dentist and I will be honest and say I chose Dr. Schmidt's office due to its close proximity to Michaels Arts and Craft store. I joked that I would base my Yelp review on whether the walk to Michaels was pleasant. I was surprised to see however, that Dr. Schmidt and his whole staff were so kind and welcoming. I did have to return for a second visit shortly after in order to have a cavity filled and he had me in and out of the chair in record time I had no pain, discomfort, or other issues while there. It has been about 2 weeks since my visit and the tooth is good still! So yeah he does know his dental work . Haha. I'm grateful for the way he and his staff explain all they are doing or see. They do it in such a way as to involve you, the patient, with what's going on. I will recommend Dr. Schmidt time and time again. Thank you guys for being so amazing. Oh and that walk to Michaels? I lost a tooth a few weeks ago in the middle of the night. The next morning I drove to Oceanview Dental, & took me in right away. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Christina Linn was.my dentist. She was very gentle & made me feel very comfortable. She wanted to be sure I was feeling well. I rate them as a 10 plus. Actually going to Oceanview Dental was a very pleasant experience.

I have the worst anxiety when it comes to the dentist but when I went here my experience was amazing. Dr. Schmidt explained everything throughly..he even offered a trial of laughing gas for my cleaning. a couple days later I returned for a couple of fillings and it was a breeze! if you fear the dentist this is the place to go. from the receptionist to the dentist and assistants I had an amazing experience!

Dr. Schmidt & his team were wonderful last week when my 7 year old son broke his 2 permanant front teeth!!!He was not even a current patient (my husband and his brother are patients) but not him (he is now).They took him the same day we called! Dr. Schmidt did an amazing job. My son is repaired and looking great. I would reccomend this dentist to ALL! They were very friendly and gentle. So far so great. They don't pressure you into doing things you don't need. They seem to really just care about the Health of your teeth and gums. Billing has been clear. No surprises.
Had my first visit today. Exam and cleaning. This was the best dental experience of my life. I'm no stranger to the chair. I've had many cavities, I've had fillings, root canals, surgeries, the list goes on. Before today I hadn't been to the dentist for about 2years because I moved a lot. Turns out I have some cavities but this was the first time that I didn't feel like someone was telling me "shame on you for not taking better care of your teeth." Instead Dr. Schmidt told me that part of the reason I've been so popular at the dentist is just how my teeth grew in and that it's not all my fault. That was HUGE for me. I left today feeling optimistic and I felt like they had my back. Everyone was super friendly and nice. Everything was very clean and the office smelled nice. I've never felt as good at the dentist than how I felt today. For once I felt supported instead of feeling like crap. I'm excited to get my teeth taken care of.

I love this dentist. The team is awesome. I got my braces on last year and got them off today. The whole experience great. They really helped me with my issues and worked with me on payment options. Which made the situation less stressful and 1 year later everything is paid off interest free. Definetly would recommend them to anyone.
Dr Schmidt and his team are absolutely AWESOME. Professional and down to earth kind of people. I've been going here for not too long however I've had a root canal and a dental cleaning done. I'm waiting on my crown to come in as we speak. I was comfortable every time I went in. There have even been a few emergency visits I've had prior and after my root canal and they were very helpful and understanding. Dr L (root canal specialist) offered me her personal number in case if I was in any discomfort after my root canal. I didn't have to use it but it was a great reassurance! I had my teeth cleaned today by Gala and she was probably the best I've ever had clean my teeth! She was precise, gentle and very sweet! I highly recommend her if you want a pearly white 5 star cleaning :-) Dr. Schmidt is awesome. He is a well rounded professional and he has military background so you KNOW if you're family is based near by you're in good hands. He gets kudos too for his education at U DUB. If you're from Washington, you KNOW the best education you can get is at U Dub. I'm from Washington and I felt more at home having him as my doc! Also, they accept care credit and you can sign up there for affordable services, Dr Schmidt's office will pay the interest for the 1st year you have care credit just pay the min amount and don't miss a payment! BTW they're open on the weekends too! I'm a student married to the military. Need I say more how lucky I have to have found this team! oh ya this is the 1st review I've written on yelp. I don't normally do this... hope you check them out:-)
Everyone at the office was so nice. Dr Schmidt was considerate of my fears and made sure to make me as comfortable as possible. He offered me a free trial of laughing gas, and it made all the difference. While under the influence of the gas, the Dr and his assistant made jokes and kept my mind off of the fact that they were drilling my tooth. I came in for a broken tooth, but will be back for my cleaning and full exam, The doctor made recommendations, but was not the slightest bit pushy. So far, this is the best dentist I have been to. I highly recommend them for anyone who has a fear of dentists, and of course for those who don't as well.
After he moved from San Diego to Oceanside many years ago, my family and I have been making that drive as he is the best dentist and we feel very comfortable with him.

I had gum surgery a couple weeks ago from Dr. Krupp. The surgery was over two hr long and very detailed gum surgery. I was expected to have a lot of pain after surgery, but there was almost no pain until now!! Dr. Krupp gave me a couple prescriptions to take before surgery and that helped me a lot I am so impressed how Dr. Krupp fixed my teeth!! I am so glad that I chose This dentist place!! My first check up with Dr. Schmidt was so helpful and he gave me a lot of advises also. All front desk clerks are really knowledgeable and friendly. They tried so hard to get my procedure payment approved from my insurance so my out of pocket cost will be less. Thank you, Lisa & Cindy!! I really appreciate all of their help, advise and professional services! Next month I am bringing my daughter for braces. I am so comfortable to start with Dr. Schmidt. I really recommend this Dentist for anybody who are looking for great dentist!
I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a dentist for my family. We just switched over to Dr.Schmidt's after not being totally satisfied at our previous dentist and had and great experience all around. The office staff is great, the dental assistant and hygienist are thorough and make you feel at ease and Dr. Schmidt gives good solid advise without trying to sell anything. The office is clean and easy to find. Originally just my husband and I switched over to this office but after a few issues at our children's dentist office we switched the kids over as well. The kids, ages 5 and 8, felt comfortable and the office staff was quick (not too quick but didn't make them sit in the chair forever) and efficient with them.

I never been a big fan of going to the dentist. I learned early on in life I have a significant tolerance to Novocaine and other anesthesia, so I take forever to get numb and the anesthetic wears off rapidly. I communicated this to Dr. Lacombe and staff and they listened!Dr. Lacombe had me come in early for my root canal and good thing we did. She patiently checked to make sure I was as comfortable as possible and I think I amazed her by how many times she had to stick me. :) They even have a sense of humor after I asked if they get a referral bonus from the chiropractor next door after being in the chair for ~3 hours.I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and dentists here. If your looking for great dentist office in Oceanside, look no further.
The stars speak for themselves... I was extremely skeptical! Even when I walked in the door on Sunday morning (btw how awesome is it they are open on sunday!) There wasn't a long wait. I filled out the new patient information and sat there nervously waiting to be seen. I have a verrrrry extreme phobia of the dentists. When I was called back Dr. Schmidt's assistant saw me and she was also sincerely friendly. I was very nervous and even told her so. She was reassuring and even made genuine small talk that established a good level of comfort. After taking the xrays Dr. Schmidt came over and he has a very warm presence. He told me my options and he was very honest and wasn't trying to get me to do the most expensive procedures. He let me be in control of what I wanted to do and left the options to me while still giving his suggestion. I don't think I've been into a dentist office like this ever. I truly appreciate the experience and have no doubts that I will be referring people to their office. Thank you to everyone who helped ease my anxiety in an emergency situation.
Awesome dentists and team. I have been going to them since I got stationed in Camp Pendleton and so have my children. I have always been afraid of the dentist, like literally horrified of them, and I still get nervous but this office has been the only office to be able to put me at ease, being patient with me, and going as slow as i needed them to go. They were also good about explaining every single thing they were about to do to me (shot, scrapping, drilling whatever it was) receptionists have also been great. Love this office :D
A friend of mine in Normal Heights was recently telling me how she was searching on Yelp for a dentist and saw only bad reviews in her area. I immediately thought "I better put one up for Dr. Schmidt's office because they are awesome!"I have been a patient for years (fillings, cleanings, gum surgery, emergency work!) and now my kids go there. My son even had his ortho work done in the Oceanside office and we have always been treated kindly and with respect. My youngest has no fear of going to the dentist - she even asks when she can go again - because she's never known a bad exerience in the chair (she's always been in their chair!).Seriously, if you are looking for a dentist in the North County area please consider going to see Dr. Schmidt & his team. I don't know how you could ask for anything better than this group of professionals.
By far the BEST DENTIST in San Diego County. Every other dentist that I have been to looks at you and sees dollar signs. Erich looks at you as a dental patient with a very conservative approach. I travel 40 minutes to get up to his office in Oceanside. It is worth every minute of my travel on the 5. He has that good Midwestern ethics.
I've know Dr. Schmidt since his office was in San Diego, Ca When he moved his practice to Oceanside,I now go up there to see him. I live in Santee, but he's well worth the drive. Dr. Schmidt & his staff are absolutely fantastic. Everyone's so friendly & helpful. I'm very fearful of dentists& Dr. Schmidt & his staff go out of their way to put me at ease. I had a root canal some time ago & I was scared to death. Well, Dr. Schmidt performed the root canal with no pain whatsoever. I brought my granddaughter there a couple of days ago & she was a little frightened, but when she left the office she said "grandma, now I know why you travel so far to see Dr. Schmidt". She said that Dr. Schmidt & his staff were so patient & kind to her & that she has no problem returning there to get her filling filled. Again. I just came from a cleaning with Dr. Schmidt and his team. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised! After not going to the dentist in 2+ years, I was expecting the worst. Lori was my hygienist and she was very nice, informative, and gentile on the teeth and gums. She made sure that I was comfortable and that what she was doing did not hurt. Also, she gave me some new information my previous dentist had not and reviewed some old techniques that I had been slacking on. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a good dentist in the area.
Dr. Schmidt is the best dentist I've ever had. I'm 29 and still hate going to the dentist. Dr. Schmidt and his staff made me feel comfortable for my visit there. I'm a single mother so I had to take my son with me and they were extremely generous to my son and made him feel welcome as well. I recommend dr. Schmidt to everyone!
We don't live in the area, but went to this dental company from recommendations from my husband's co-workers. They are open on Sundays (super plus!) and even though it's hard to get in on Sunday's they were able to service my husband, myself and our two kids around the same time! The front desk staff was great and everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable. Gala was my hygienist and my cleaning went great! She was so nice and was very gentle on my teeth. My kids had fun and they even had a treasure box for them to pick a prize right after. My husband had Jan and she did a great job on his cleaning as well.All in all this was a great visit and they will be our permanent dental office of choice. They are in a great location to shop after - they have a good amount of retail shops and restaurants in walking distance!
I'm in a military family, so we move every three years and have to find a whole new set of doctors and dentists wherever we go. I was lucky to have Dr. Schmidt and his office recommended to me by another satisfied customer-- he was great! The office staff are warm and welcoming, Dr. Schmidt is friendly and professional. My hygenist, Gala, was excellent with my cleaning. She really enjoys her work and did an efficient, detailed job of cleaning my teeth. No roughness or unnecessary pain. I will be going back in 6 months because I am happy with my visit and would suggest to anyone looking for a great dentist that Dr. Schmidt is a great choice.
I am very scared of going to the dentist so I hadn't gone In over 10 years. At dr. Stsnfords office they took wonderful care of me. They took all of my needs into consideration and constantly made sure I was comfortable. They explain everything in details so I could understand and to top it all off they are open on Sunday so I don't have to take time out of my busy work schedule. They also offer nitrous to calm me down for only $25! That is a must have for someone like me!

This has been my Delta Dental orthodontist for more than ten years. They used to be at the Oceanside mall off Vista Way. However they moved their office off Hwy 78 in Vista and I followed them because they are the best! Love my hygienist Gala, who is so gentle and accurate. My dentist Dr. Schmidt is an angel! This dental office only focuses on my needs and doesn't try to push any unneeded services. My Delta Premiere covers most if not all of the necessary dental services I need and have no complaints at all. I've tried a plethora of orthodontic establishments in San Diego, and this office works for me. The staff is genuine and frankly I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

I hate the dentist and I always have, until now. Luckily, the entire staff is super nice and sensitive to the fact that not everyone is a fan of getting their mouths drilled. The doc himself is really kind and I've seen/heard him interact with kids and he does a great job with them too. He put me at ease because he explained exactly what he was doing before he did it, so I know what to expect. I needed my first cavity filled and honestly I'm so glad i had that experience here, I wasn't made to feel ridiculous when i was scared and they did a great job listening to my concerns. Their dental hygienist is also so nice, I needed a deep clean (about a 2 hour procedure) and the ease of conversation really helps to make that time go by quickly. I'd highly recommend trying El Camino Dental Arts if you're in the market for a new dentist.
Amazing dentists and staff we’ve been coming here for 12 years now started off military and now civilian and they have always treated us as family. We drive out from Fallbrook to have our dental taken care of. Having a big family we have had a little of everything done general dentistry, orthodontics, periodontal. I love the fact that we can get it all taken care of in one place. We always see the same dentist Dr.Schmidt is beyond amazing!! The front office is very knowledgeable when it comes to insurance.

I actually enjoyed going to the dentist to see Dr. Schmidt. I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran and I needed 7 implants and a bridge. The surgery to prepare for the implants was performed by Dr. Anna Hsu. She was very skilled, caring and professional while doing a great job. Then it was back to Dr. Schmidt for the implants and crowns. He too is very skilled, very professional while friendly and caring at the same time. In short Dr. Schmidt is a terrific dentist who did a fine job.The staff too is terrific. Lisa, Kelly and Cindy Stanford who submitted my case to the Veterans Administration for approval. Dr. Schmidt's assistant Bee was excellent as was Lisa, Dr. Hsu's assistant.The entire experience at El Camino Dental Arts which lasted over a year for the complete implants procedure was a huge success in every way.One last note is that the facility itself is impressively clean and the equipment up to date. I look forward to my follow up visits and cleanings.

Due to a bad experience and having an autoimmune disease, I absolutely dread the dentist. We are talking full blown anxiety! I was in tears when Dr. Schmidt walked in to introduce himself. I had a broken molar and the same molar on the opposite side had a cavity and they fixed them right up quick and efficiently! Going to the dentist normally make me nervous, but they were so welcoming and calmed my nerves with how friendly and confident they were with their work.

Dr Erich Schmidt and crew are the best. Been having my teeth taken care of here regularly for the past 10 years. They moved to Vista office from O'side - last place was more convenient for me. However, hard to follow them to the new place because... well, heck I'm sticking with the best DDS and crew. Absolutely enjoy my bi- annual cleaning with Gala, and the scheduling and front desk staff are just absolutely stellar. I'm never charged more for services that are not needed or are not covered ny my insurance... plus, absolutely love grooving to the piped music while my teeth are being cared for. Bottom line: I trust the staff and like the price.

This is a fantastic Dental Group. I recently had to have a molar pulled because it could not be saved by a root canal. I was very worried about the process since this molar's root was very problematic. Dr. Hsu did an amazing job and I experienced ZERO pain and the process took less that 10 mins. I was blown away. I will be proceeding with a dental implant and I am now confident that the process will be painless and effective. The office staff is also amazing, Lisa & Cindy two of their office staff were also very helpful and very caring. Dr. Schmidt is my regular dentist and I have been going to him for over 7 years. Great group of professionals !

I have been a long time patient of Dr Schmidt and his associates but I wanted to leave a review about my visit, today. I'm very afraid of dental work. It's not uncommon for me to break into tears from just getting a couple injections. I am so appreciative of the way Dr Schmidt is so painless and gentle while doing his work. I drive twenty miles to use his office and will not go anywhere else because I trust him and his staff. I went here about a month ago and met with Dr. S. He was very nice and not pushy !!! I know I need a lot of dental work done Dr.S didn't make me feel bad about it. He went over the things I needed done and we talked about different options. I came back to get 3 teeth pulled including one wisdom tooth. Dr.N actually pulled my teeth. I told all my friends and family about this place. The inside is nice, the employees are nice the procedures are pain free

Wonderful and professional staff! Dr. Schmidt is very gentle and condiderate to his patients during examinations, as well as being extremely knowledgeable in his field of dentistry. I have always been taken in on time for my appointments, which is not always the case with other offices. Speaking of the office - it is absolutely beautiful! I have been a patient for many years at Dr. Schmidt's practice and will never go anywhere else even though I live in Carlsbad! The hygienists are fantastic as well as the clerical staff, especially Cindy S.!

I am an adult who has a fear of the dentist, I always get anxiety beforehand but I cracked a tooth and started having some major tooth pain yesterday, did some research and saw on every platform the perfect 5 star reviews. Called, made an appointment- the front desk person was so kind and understanding on the phone and got me an appointment today! Came in after spending 5 minutes in my car trying to calm myself down enough to go inside and I'm so glad I did! I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Schmidt and Mary! 100% would recommend them to anyone! Very easy and they were so understanding about my fears and made sure to numb me extra good. Already made my next appointment!

Dr. Schmidt and his entire staff were amazing. His wife is actually one of the hygienist there. I learned this during one of my cleanings with her which if it weren't for her flossing my teeth I would have thought we were friends chatting over margaritas. She even went over what I was doing wrong when brushing and explained how to prevent myself from further messing up my teeth. No other hygienist has ever gone out of their way to explain things to me other than the routine clean and remind me to floss. I really appreciated her extra efforts and knowledge.Just sitting in the waiting room I saw multiple regulars coming in and leaving. Most an older bunch that seemed to use their visit as a social hour as well. You could tell that the staff really enjoy their jobs and enjoy connecting with each customer that comes in. After a horrific experience at a place off mission and el Camino .... I was excited to be referred to this place but was also sad that I had to move out of city and now on my search for a new dentist. I don't know what's worse.... finding a new hair stylist or dentist....
I am so happy I found Dr. Schmidt! My mom and I have had the hardest time finding a good and honest dentist who doesn't want to perform a bunch of unnecessary procedures just to charge you extra money. My mom saw Dr. Schmidt a few months ago and literally told me he was "her dentist from god" so when my one year old fell and injured his gums I took him straight to El Camino Dental Arts. Everyone from the woman who answered the phone, the people working the front desk, and the dentist were so sensitive to me and my son. Dr. Schmidt took his time to hear and answer all of my questions thoroughly and didn't make me feel rushed or like how many health professionals do: like an overly worried mom. I will definitely be taking my son here for his future dental cleanings/needs and recommending this office to friends and family!
I've been coming here for a while now, and this is the only dentist in my entire life I've regularly booked my next appointment before i leave. I've had negative experiences with other dentists in the past. That just doesn't happen here. Ask for Jen for your hygienist. She's friendly, and does a thorough job - each time explaining what was good, what could be improved and sends you on your way with a smile.

I don't know anybody that actually likes going to the dentist, but Dr. Schmidt and his team are such a lovely group of people, that I actually do! Gala is always very friendly and sweet. I can talk to her (when her fingers aren't in my mouth) freely and feel very comfortable with her. She is also very honest about giving advice when asked about certain dental hygiene/care. She won't try to sell the most expensive anything, but lets you know your options.I always enjoy coming in and seeing her. I look forward to the next cleaning in 6 months! Thank you again:)

I decided to finally get in to see a dentist and I will be honest and say I chose Dr. Schmidt's office due to its close proximity to Michaels Arts and Craft store. I joked that I would base my Yelp review on whether the walk to Michaels was pleasant. I was surprised to see however, that Dr. Schmidt and his whole staff were so kind and welcoming. I did have to return for a second visit shortly after in order to have a cavity filled and he had me in and out of the chair in record time I had no pain, discomfort, or other issues while there. It has been about 2 weeks since my visit and the tooth is good still! So yeah he does know his dental work . Haha. I'm grateful for the way he and his staff explain all they are doing or see. They do it in such a way as to involve you, the patient, with what's going on. I will recommend Dr. Schmidt time and time again. Thank you guys for being so amazing. Oh and that walk to Michaels? I lost a tooth a few weeks ago in the middle of the night. The next morning I drove to Oceanview Dental, & took me in right away. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Christina Linn was.my dentist. She was very gentle & made me feel very comfortable. She wanted to be sure I was feeling well. I rate them as a 10 plus. Actually going to Oceanview Dental was a very pleasant experience.

Dr. Schmidt explained everything throughly..he even offered a trial of laughing gas for my cleaning. a couple days later I returned for a couple of fillings and it was a breeze! if you fear the dentist this is the place to go. from the receptionist to the dentist and assistants I had an amazing experience!

Dr. Schmidt & his team were wonderful last week when my 7 year old son broke his 2 permanant front teeth!!!He was not even a current patient (my husband and his brother are patients) but not him (he is now).They took him the same day we called! Dr. Schmidt did an amazing job. My son is repaired and looking great. I would reccomend this dentist to ALL! They were very friendly and gentle. We had a great experience.Thank you for your hard work!
So far so great. They don't pressure you into doing things you don't need. They seem to really just care about the Health of your teeth and gums. Billing has been clear. No surprises.
Had my first visit today. Exam and cleaning. This was the best dental experience of my life. I'm no stranger to the chair. I've had many cavities, I've had fillings, root canals, surgeries, the list goes on. Before today I hadn't been to the dentist for about 2years because I moved a lot. Turns out I have some cavities but this was the first time that I didn't feel like someone was telling me "shame on you for not taking better care of your teeth." Instead Dr. Schmidt told me that part of the reason I've been so popular at the dentist is just how my teeth grew in and that it's not all my fault. That was HUGE for me. I left today feeling optimistic and I felt like they had my back. Everyone was super friendly and nice. Everything was very clean and the office smelled nice. I've never felt as good at the dentist than how I felt today. For once I felt supported instead of feeling like crap. I'm excited to get my teeth taken care of.
I called this location today explaining to them that my daughter fell and chipped her tooth and that i needed help quick before she went to work in a few hrsWell low and behold they came through on such a short notice and fixed her all up.Thank you so much !
I love this dentist. The team is awesome. I got my braces on last year and got them off today. The whole experience great. They really helped me with my issues and worked with me on payment options. Which made the situation less stressful and 1 year later everything is paid off interest free. Definetly would recommend them to anyone.
Dr Schmidt and his team are absolutely AWESOME. Professional and down to earth kind of people. I've been going here for not too long however I've had a root canal and a dental cleaning done. I'm waiting on my crown to come in as we speak. I was comfortable every time I went in. There have even been a few emergency visits I've had prior and after my root canal and they were very helpful and understanding. Dr L (root canal specialist) offered me her personal number in case if I was in any discomfort after my root canal. I didn't have to use it but it was a great reassurance! I had my teeth cleaned today by Gala and she was probably the best I've ever had clean my teeth! She was precise, gentle and very sweet! I highly recommend her if you want a pearly white 5 star cleaning :-) Dr. Schmidt is awesome. He is a well rounded professional and he has military background so you KNOW if you're family is based near by you're in good hands. He gets kudos too for his education at U DUB. If you're from Washington, you KNOW the best education you can get is at U Dub. I'm from Washington and I felt more at home having him as my doc! Also, they accept care credit and you can sign up there for affordable services, Dr Schmidt's office will pay the interest for the 1st year you have care credit just pay the min amount and don't miss a payment! BTW they're open on the weekends too! I'm a student married to the military. Need I say more how lucky I have to have found this team! oh ya this is the 1st review I've written on yelp. Everyone at the office was so nice. Dr Schmidt was considerate of my fears and made sure to make me as comfortable as possible. He offered me a free trial of laughing gas, and it made all the difference. While under the influence of the gas, the Dr and his assistant made jokes and kept my mind off of the fact that they were drilling my tooth. I came in for a broken tooth, but will be back for my cleaning and full exam, The doctor made recommendations, but was not the slightest bit pushy. So far, this is the best dentist I have been to. I highly recommend them for anyone who has a fear of dentists, and of course for those who don't as well.
After he moved from San Diego to Oceanside many years ago, my family and I have been making that drive as he is the best dentist and we feel very comfortable with him.

I had gum surgery a couple weeks ago from Dr. Krupp. The surgery was over two hr long and very detailed gum surgery. I was expected to have a lot of pain after surgery, but there was almost no pain until now!! Dr. Krupp gave me a couple prescriptions to take before surgery and that helped me a lot I am so impressed how Dr. Krupp fixed my teeth!! I am so glad that I chose This dentist place!! My first check up with Dr. Schmidt was so helpful and he gave me a lot of advises also. All front desk clerks are really knowledgeable and friendly. They tried so hard to get my procedure payment approved from my insurance so my out of pocket cost will be less. Thank you, Lisa & Cindy!! I really appreciate all of their help, advise and professional services! Next month I am bringing my daughter for braces. I am so comfortable to start with Dr. Schmidt. I really recommend this Dentist for anybody who are looking for great dentist!
I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a dentist for my family. We just switched over to Dr.Schmidt's after not being totally satisfied at our previous dentist and had and great experience all around. The office staff is great, the dental assistant and hygienist are thorough and make you feel at ease and Dr. Schmidt gives good solid advise without trying to sell anything. The office is clean and easy to find. Originally just my husband and I switched over to this office but after a few issues at our children's dentist office we switched the kids over as well. The kids, ages 5 and 8, felt comfortable and the office staff was quick (not too quick but didn't make them sit in the chair forever) and efficient with them.
Best dentist I've ever been too! My family and I will keep coming back as long as we are living in the area.
I never been a big fan of going to the dentist. I learned early on in life I have a significant tolerance to Novocaine and other anesthesia, so I take forever to get numb and the anesthetic wears off rapidly. I communicated this to Dr. Lacombe and staff and they listened!Dr. Lacombe had me come in early for my root canal and good thing we did. She patiently checked to make sure I was as comfortable as possible and I think I amazed her by how many times she had to stick me. :) They even have a sense of humor after I asked if they get a referral bonus from the chiropractor next door after being in the chair for ~3 hours.I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and dentists here. If your looking for great dentist office in Oceanside, look no further.
The stars speak for themselves... I was extremely skeptical! Even when I walked in the door on Sunday morning (btw how awesome is it they are open on sunday!) There wasn't a long wait. I filled out the new patient information and sat there nervously waiting to be seen. I have a verrrrry extreme phobia of the dentists. When I was called back Dr. Schmidt's assistant saw me and she was also sincerely friendly. I was very nervous and even told her so. She was reassuring and even made genuine small talk that established a good level of comfort. After taking the xrays Dr. Schmidt came over and he has a very warm presence. He told me my options and he was very honest and wasn't trying to get me to do the most expensive procedures. He let me be in control of what I wanted to do and left the options to me while still giving his suggestion. I don't think I've been into a dentist office like this ever. I truly appreciate the experience and have no doubts that I will be referring people to their office. Thank you to everyone who helped ease my anxiety in an emergency situation.
Awesome dentists and team. I have been going to them since I got stationed in Camp Pendleton and so have my children. I have always been afraid of the dentist, like literally horrified of them, and I still get nervous but this office has been the only office to be able to put me at ease, being patient with me, and going as slow as i needed them to go. They were also good about explaining every single thing they were about to do to me (shot, scrapping, drilling whatever it was) receptionists have also been great. Love this office :D
A friend of mine in Normal Heights was recently telling me how she was searching on Yelp for a dentist and saw only bad reviews in her area. I immediately thought "I better put one up for Dr. Schmidt's office because they are awesome!"I have been a patient for years (fillings, cleanings, gum surgery, emergency work!) and now my kids go there. My son even had his ortho work done in the Oceanside office and we have always been treated kindly and with respect. My youngest has no fear of going to the dentist - she even asks when she can go again - because she's never known a bad exerience in the chair (she's always been in their chair!).Seriously, if you are looking for a dentist in the North County area please consider going to see Dr. Schmidt & his team. I don't know how you could ask for anything better than this group of professionals.
By far the BEST DENTIST in San Diego County. Every other dentist that I have been to looks at you and sees dollar signs. Erich looks at you as a dental patient with a very conservative approach. I travel 40 minutes to get up to his office in Oceanside. It is worth every minute of my travel on the 5. He has that good Midwestern ethics.
I've know Dr. Schmidt since his office was in San Diego, Ca When he moved his practice to Oceanside,I now go up there to see him. I live in Santee, but he's well worth the drive. Dr. Schmidt & his staff are absolutely fantastic. Everyone's so friendly & helpful. I'm very fearful of dentists& Dr. Schmidt & his staff go out of their way to put me at ease. I had a root canal some time ago & I was scared to death. Well, Dr. Schmidt performed the root canal with no pain whatsoever. I brought my granddaughter there a couple of days ago & she was a little frightened, but when she left the office she said "grandma, now I know why you travel so far to see Dr. Schmidt". She said that Dr. Schmidt & his staff were so patient & kind to her & that she has no problem returning there to get her filling filled. Again. I just came from a cleaning with Dr. Schmidt and his team. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised! After not going to the dentist in 2+ years, I was expecting the worst. Lori was my hygienist and she was very nice, informative, and gentile on the teeth and gums. She made sure that I was comfortable and that what she was doing did not hurt. Also, she gave me some new information my previous dentist had not and reviewed some old techniques that I had been slacking on. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a good dentist in the area.
Dr. Schmidt is the best dentist I've ever had. I'm 29 and still hate going to the dentist. Dr. Schmidt and his staff made me feel comfortable for my visit there. I'm a single mother so I had to take my son with me and they were extremely generous to my son and made him feel welcome as well. I recommend dr. Schmidt to everyone!
We don't live in the area, but went to this dental company from recommendations from my husband's co-workers. They are open on Sundays (super plus!) and even though it's hard to get in on Sunday's they were able to service my husband, myself and our two kids around the same time! The front desk staff was great and everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable. Gala was my hygienist and my cleaning went great! She was so nice and was very gentle on my teeth. My kids had fun and they even had a treasure box for them to pick a prize right after. My husband had Jan and she did a great job on his cleaning as well.All in all this was a great visit and they will be our permanent dental office of choice. They are in a great location to shop after - they have a good amount of retail shops and restaurants in walking distance!
I'm in a military family, so we move every three years and have to find a whole new set of doctors and dentists wherever we go. I was lucky to have Dr. Schmidt and his office recommended to me by another satisfied customer-- he was great! The office staff are warm and welcoming, Dr. Schmidt is friendly and professional. My hygenist, Gala, was excellent with my cleaning. She really enjoys her work and did an efficient, detailed job of cleaning my teeth. No roughness or unnecessary pain. I will be going back in 6 months because I am happy with my visit and would suggest to anyone looking for a great dentist that Dr. Schmidt is a great choice.
I am very scared of going to the dentist so I hadn't gone In over 10 years. At dr. Stsnfords office they took wonderful care of me. They took all of my needs into consideration and constantly made sure I was comfortable. They explain everything in details so I could understand and to top it all off they are open on Sunday so I don't have to take time out of my busy work schedule. They also offer nitrous to calm me down for only $25! That is a must have for someone like me!
